Nestled by our lake our shepherd's hut offers a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. The accommodation is a very comfortable, self-contained annex next to a barn conversion (host’s main home.) My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, cyclist, walkers and wildlife enthusiasts (particularly seal and birdwatchers.) Glancing at a map of Norfolk will show Felthorpe’s proximity to beautiful North Coast beaches (approximately 20 miles) the famous Broads, the “fine” city of Norwich (7.5 miles)and several National Trust properties. It is necessary to have your own transport.

The Lodge at Lyng Mill

Peaceful, rustic and romantic lodge in the grounds of an 18th century mill house on the river Wensum at Lyng Mill, North Norfolk. Swim in the river or light the wood burner, get back to nature in this cosy romantic setting. The Lodge sits in a wooded area underneath a giant red cedar tree. It is also on the banks of the mill pond, a perfect wild swimming spot with its own outdoor shower. It is bright and airy in summer but warm and cosy in the winter months. We love dogs, all welcome.

The annexe is an ideal base for exploring the delights that Norfolk has to offer. A very quiet and peaceful location with the vibrant city of Norwich on the doorstep.

Earlham Park is just around the corner for dog walks, runs or just enjoyment of the park. The University also has a lovely lake and park areas.
