Perched, adjoining Corbett Heritage Village at Choti Haldwani (District Nainital) where Jim Corbett housed his winter home(now converted to museum) is the Homestay, "Carpet Sahib- The Hangout "adjoining the Boundary wall of the Heritage Village as well guarding it. This Homestead stands amidst the grandeur of forest wilderness mingled with the serenity of Corbett s village placing itself at a pedestal for nature enthusiasts.

We have kitchen available in all our huts at the property if you would like to cook by yourself. We also offer garden fresh organic home cooked meals made from fresh and seasonal vegetables picked from our farm on per meal basis. Seasonal food menu will be available at the property.

Wonderful moments to cherish with treks to Nainital via kotabagh and Panghut through arduous forest climb and winding paths, various forest trails to Brahm Bhu temple,Corbett fall. Boar river and Canals are a testimony to the wilderness and beauty of the jungle.

Corbett's favorite evening walks were along the far side of the Boar bridge –the road to Kotabagh, forest road to Ramnagar ,as mentioned in his book-My India. The forest road from homestay to Boar bridge is well connected and easily accessible by car even which about 2 km. Cycling as well can be enjoyable too.

Corbett Gram Vikas Samiti (CGVS) is a registered non govt. organization at Choti Haldwani, formed by the community of Choti haldwani in 2003 in order to realize the dreams of jim Corbett and follow his principles.It offers safaris,,tours to Nainital district of lakes, jungle walks along the neighboring Kotabagh jungles which touch the adjoining forests of Corbett National Park , nature guide services, heritage walks, bird watching ,folk dance and music programs as part of its community based programs.
