If you want to see Florida alligators and tons of wildlife then make this drive. It is about a 10 mile loop on a dirt road, but you will see a lot of gators. Check the hours, I think it is only open Friday through Sunday.

If you are not local, then purchase and activate a Sun Pass. There are many toll roads in the area and it will save you a lot of time and hassle while driving. If you are renting a car while here, ask for the toll pass when you rent your car.
