One of the coolest places to hang out. It is built in the shape of a giant milk can. They always have new flavors of ice cream. Aside from the family-friendly Hirshorn Park across the street, this is the place to see and be seen on "the scene." You may stand in line for half-an-hour to an hour to engage in people watching and to socializing in the afternoon, in the evening before going out for the night or later in the evening as a start to your night. It is nestled between two good restaurants and bars, Linger and Lola's.

It's good for a meal, a breakfast, a coffee, happy hour, or meeting someone for drinks. The menu is great if you're vegetarian and tired of eating the same thing all of the time.

Summer: The entire place is blooming and magical ;-) Fall: The corn maze and pumpkin patch at the Chatfeild Botanic Gardens (30 minutes south) Winter: The greenhouse is like a tropical getaway and the Japanese garden is so peaceful and beautiful in the winter. There is a fun and educational Children's garden and the Hive Cafe is great and serves food from their own garden! Look online to see what days are free!

Any visit to the zoo is bound to be remarkably entertaining and eye opening as these scamps are continually testing the boundaries of their environments, which have been crafted in nontraditional ways to allow visitors to have closer exposure to animals than most zoo enclosures allow. You won't be disappointed!
