The best place for concerts. This is where they all play and played before getting big and going to Paradiso.. ;) dont forget to get the one month membership for 3,50. A year membership for 25,00 gets you lots of free concerts when you stay longer in Amsterdam. Tell them i told you ;)

my fave bar in Amsterdam. In centre west in Staatsliedenbuurt. During the day you can work here or have a coffee. and in the evening its talking, good music. young and old. great peeps in the staff. many a dj plays from vinyl here. they have also events once in a while. look for the bowie grafitti outside! around the corner is also zaal 100 for unknown bands in de witte straat

Oosterpark has playgrounds, coffee places, hidden gardening options at Tropenmuseum. good for a short run. trees to talk to and lots of people enjoy sitting on the grass there in summer

Afrikan deliciousness: mainly take away, but you can eat there.. ask me for the tiffins to borrow! then you won't need plastic containers, and can still eat it here at the house. I love this place. there is a more restaurant style Kilimanjaro number one near Kadijksplein. This is the second one..

this little dike-like mini village lines the fields and the water just outside Amsterdam. cross 2 (officially 3) bridges and get down to the dike, and start your bikeride through the green fields to the outskirts..
