We'll meet at the Black Sand Box office or at the beach, best for the day. At the surfschool van we grab our gear and head out to a secluded area with plenty of great beginner waves. The lesson starts on the sand, where I’ll teach you surf techniques and the important things you need to know to be safe and successful at surfing. I’ll also cover local surf culture and etiquette so that you stay on the right side of your fellow surfers. When ready, we’ll paddle out and spend the rest of our time in the ocean, enjoying the Azorean waves! Before every lesson I look at the surf forecast and make sure it is safe for first timers. Have in mind that the MEETING POINT/LOCATION and START TIME for this experience might vary depending on the surf conditions and the low tide of the day. Other things to note Black Sand Box (Surf) is licensed by the Government of the Azores as a tourist maritime operator (OMT-16/2018). We have insurances of civil liability and personal accident!

We will meet in Mercado da Graça in Ponta Delgada, where we going to know the different products that grows on the island, as well as our fish, sausages, cheeses and ways to consume and cook. After going to the market, these products will be used in the cooking class.At first, I will explain my options to the entrances, where is also include locals wines and cheese. Next we will start the cooking class, where I explain the most important ingredients of the Azorean cuisine, then we start an authentic cooking class with demonstration and hands-on experience. After, we will enjoy what we have cooked. During the cooking process, I will show you the farm where I live, where you can see the typical fruits and plants from Azores and depending on the season of the year, we can pick fresh ingredients, to our cooking class. In this cruise, you will sail till the best point to see the sunset, depending on the weather/sea/wind conditions it´s possible to swim in the ocean just before the sunset, from June to August. With our professional crew, you can also learn a little bit about the sailing process. It will be offered some snacks with regional products and white wine or other drinks ( not im 2021). In the way back you will see the city by night ( if possible)! Tips are welcome to the crew!

We will take you scuba diving to the most pristine waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The waters close to the Azores beautiful São Miguel Island are home to many different fish species; you'll enjoy your time underwater and see lots of life during the dive. We will take you on a nautical tour to see and do underwater what you like, like swimming around, photographing, or maybe visiting a wreck? This will happen after a short briefing of the next 60 to 90 minutes in the ocean, explaining where we're going and how we should behave when we get there. The ocean, the sea creatures, the rocks, the flora, everything underwater can contribute to our pleasure and satisfaction, and our responsibility is to leave untouched, respect and protect. This experience is for certified divers. If you aren't a certified diver, we can take you on a "try dive". Join us for an authentically unique experience, touring Agua de Alto via a 1.5 mile hike, side by side our happy, rescued donkeys. At Donkeys and Friends, we believe, and have seen firsthand how responsible tourism helps visitors engage more deeply with the Azores, and we strive to share our community through the eyes of locals, in the most traditional of fashions. Our mission is to help and protect donkeys in need of rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming. Donkeys walk at the same speed as humans, about four miles per hour. Moving is vital to their ongoing health. In the wild, these animals can be found traveling 10 to 20 kilometers a day as they wander around grazing. And that’s where we need your help! These daily hiking adventures keep our big-eared friends healthy, while unleashing their natural curiosity and wonder. On this excursion, you will have the opportunity to stroll alongside Gabriela, Joaquin de Horta, Esperanca, Edward, and the always-entertaining Shetland pony, Kiwi! We will explore Agua de Alto, where they say it’s always sunny, at a donkey’s pace, reviling in the laid back pace that marks these relaxed islands. We’ll let you in on the secret paths to the best beaches on the south side of the island, make a pit stop for coffee and a chance to brush up on your Portuguese. Este é um passeio por uma propriedade privada com história e infra-estruturas de pedra vulcânica que remontam ao século XIX. Aqui estabelecemos uma quinta em modo de produção biológica, para nosso sustento e comercialização de produtos. No início do passeio será fornecida uma cesta para que ao longo do percurso possam colher frutas e legumes da época. O passeio consiste numa caminhada de mais ou menos 1 Km pelos pomares, pastagens, mata e jardins da quinta onde podem conhecer e alimentar alguns exemplares da raça bovina dos Açores, ovelhas, gansos patos e galinhas, criados livremente. Durante o passeio será descrita alguma da história secular da quinta, os métodos de pastoreio e produção biológica e as diferentes culturas desenvolvidas, tal como toda variedade de fauna e flora presente.

We start with a one hour walk to the fishing port, discussing flora, fauna, history, and all things donkeys along the way. We’ll then make our way to the Cultural Center, where you will have the opportunity to soak in an incredible collection from Portuguese artists at an intimate art museum.

Come jump off a cliff of emotions and feelings to know the wonders that Ribeira Grande can offer you! With me you will know the Salto do Cabrito trail, in this trail you will be able to join with nature, and the two become one, one body, one mind! I will show you all the fauna and flora that exist there, and you will be able to touch it and learn about its history! The main attraction of this trail is the cascade of the salto do cabrito, about 30 meters high and with its crystal clear waters, and of course you can bathe in it, but if you don't like crystal clear, cold water, we also have the thermal springs of the caldeiras, which can provide you with a powerful and relaxing recovery for your body with thermal waters. Along the way, mostly dirt road, we will see a dam, streams and even boilers, all surrounded by wonderful nature. This whole trail will be done on foot! In this trail we will include relaxation activities and interconnection with nature, to make the client free from the constant stress of life! The difficulty of the route is medium and it lasts about 3 hours. We will all return together and will be able to enjoy local food in a local restaurant.

Dado o processo da cerâmica requerer cozedura à volta dos 1000ºC, o trabalho será entregue ao seu criador 2 dias após a execução. No final as abelhas presenteiam-te com uma prova de mel acabadinhos de sair da colmeias e colhidos por ti.

With local ingredients, fresh and seasonal products, we prepare dinner, inspired by macrobiotics, plant-based, vegetarian, and some special family recipes , from our grandmothers cook books that we adapted for nowadays. Our dinners are prepared with what is available on the day at the local market giving a modern and international twist to traditional ingredients and recipies. For those that prefer a hands-on encounter, enjoy lots of laughs at the Agua De Alto Donkey Association. Helping with the daily chores will give members of your group a meaningful experience. Helping with the day-to-day tasks required for looking after the welfare of our animals. These may include feeds, bath time, medication, mucking out, grooming, cleaning hooves, clearing field shelters and paddocks, sweeping yards, leading and herding animals out of pens and paddocks and assisting with outreach therapy visits. The mission of the donkey association is to help donkeys in need of rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing. We focus on providing education and protection from animal cruelty, abuse, and neglect as well as a developing a future sanctuary for donkeys that need a forever home. We believe that authentic and responsible tourism helps our guest engage more deeply with the Azores, and the locals love meeting new people. Our goal is to share our donkeys and community in an friendly way with visitors from all over the world.
