This temple is dedicated to the presiding deity of Sheetala Devi and is perfectly placed near a pond in one of the villages of Gurgaon. This village is also the birthplace of Guru Dronacharya. This temple is thronged by devotees especially on Mondays in the month of Chaitra, which is from March to April.

Sheetla Mata Temple is an ancient temple dedicated to the Mata Sheetla Devi, wife of Guru Dronacharya who was the teacher of the Pandavas and Kauravas according to an Indian epic Mahabharata. The temple is located on Sheetla Mata Road in Gurugram (earlier known as Gurgaon) city of Gurugram district in the state of Haryana in India.
