Baltimore often lays claim to Edgar Allan Poe, but his most prolific period, and the happiest years of his life, were spent in Philadelphia. This National Historic Site in a building where he once lived celebrates the time he spent here writing stories like "The Tell-Tale Heart," "The Murders in the Rue Morgue," and "The Gold-Bug."
The Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site is a preserved home once rented by American author Edgar Allan Poe. Though Poe lived in many houses over several years in Philadelphia, it is the only one that still survives.
It's interesting because Poe lived there for a while, but that's about it. It's a small house for a poor man, I found out after I went there that many cities have a museum/house where Poe lived for a bit.
